Fecal DNA Collection and Stabilization Mini Tubes

These Fecal DNA Collection & Preservation Mini Tubes are designed for the rapid preservation of DNA from fresh fecal specimens. Each tube contains a liquid fecal DNA preservative. Users simply collect fecal samples into the tubes and mix by shaking or vortexing until the sample is fully combined with the preservative.

The preservative prevents the growth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, inactivates viruses, and renders the samples non-infectious for safe handling and shipping. It also eliminates the need for immediate processing or freezing, allowing samples to be shipped to centralized testing facilities at ambient temperatures. DNA in the samples can be preserved at room temperature for over two years.

Each collection tube is preloaded with beads to enable effective sample homogenization using any commercially available bead-beating equipment. This kit is well suited for the collection and preservation of fecal material from mice, hamsters, chinchillas, rabbits, and other animals for microbiome studies and related applications.
